Clackamas County Economic Stimulus and Recovery

Clackamas County is aggressively seeking American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) funds to provide essential and expanded services to the citizens of the county.

ARRA became law on February 17, 2009. The purpose of ARRA is to stimulate the U.S. economy through federal tax cuts, expansion of unemployment and social service benefits, and increased spending for education, health care, energy, and infrastructure.

Clackamas County plans on applying for over $43 million for projects in:

  • Employment and Workforce Training
  • Energy Efficiency and Conservation
  • Environment and Natural Resources
  • Health Care and Human Services
  • Housing
  • Public Safety
  • Telecommunications
  • Transportation

Sustainable Projects—Clackamas Way

Clackamas County, with its mix of urban areas, farms, forests, and mountains, reflects the diversity of Oregon itself. Our communities are inextricably linked with our natural resources and for generations our environmental, economic, and social health have been tied together. We have preserved this balance with wise investments in all three.

Clackamas County now has a rare opportunity to make investments today that will set the stage for a more sustainable tomorrow.
